• Quick update on this, I abandoned the effort, that bolt ain’t shifting.

    I’ll continue to douse it with penetrating oil for a bit, but have been doing so really since I got the bike years ago and became aware of the likelihood of it being seized. Might instead smear some chemical metal on the little holes.

  • Starting a new thread for my top front engine mounting efforts.

    Today drilled two tiny 1.8mm holes either side, to help get penetrating oil into the fused allly block and steel through bolt, with a small hand-cranked craft drill, it went in like knife through butter.

    This is where I am then, letting it soak in PG (not Tips).
